1. Where is BookSpring located? What are the hours of operation?

We are located at 2006 Greenbrook Parkway, Austin, TX 78723. We are open Monday- Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

2. Do you accept donated new or gently used books?

We encourage the community to recycle their children’s books by donating them to our programs. We welcome infant board books, children’s picture books, and elementary chapter books. Books can be dropped off Monday- Friday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. A drop box is also available for afterhours donations. Be sure to fill out an In-Kind form located to the right of the dropbox.

3. Do you accept monetary donations?

We do accept monetary donations. Give just $50 and you can say, “I bought a kid a library today.” Make checks payable to BookSpring and mail to 2006 Greenbrook Parkway, Austin, TX 78723. You can also donate here: https://bit.ly/2BzT5tk.

4. What percentage of a donation goes directly to program costs?

$0.80 cents of every dollar go directly to program costs.

5. Who does BookSpring serve?

BookSpring serves children ages 0 to 12 and their families.

6. Who does BookSpring partner with?

BookSpring partners with healthcare (Rx) providers, educators (Ed), and other community (Go) organizations to reach children and families. We use the Census data to evaluate our programmatic impact and to determine our partnerships. BookSpring partners with clinics, Title 1 elementary schools, early childhood centers, and other nonprofits working directly with children and families.

7. How do I volunteer? What kind of volunteer opportunities do you offer?

We invite members of the community to engage in our mission. Prospective volunteers are invited to register and signup for our monthly orientation the third Tuesday of every month at 11:00 am or 6:00 pm.

Volunteers are needed to assist with the essential function of sorting and bundling donated books, reading aloud and facilitating programs, and assisting with transporting books and other materials to program partners.
