Despite an unexpected but welcome Spring rain storm, about 35 supporters and friends of BookSpring gathered to celebrate early literacy enrichment with the theme, “Dig into Reading.” Held at the eclectic Sparky Pocket Park pavilion in Central Austin, there was just enough room inside and on the porch for everyone to stay dry and enjoy being together but stay socially distanced. Kudos to our partners at Atmos Energy, donations from East Austin Succulents, and to organizers Bianca Paz-Cisneros and Sarah Hill, who make the food, gardening, music, and company a relaxing and enjoyable get together for all. Don’t forget, there’s always time to join BookSpring as a sustaining monthly supporter through the Flying Book Society. Only $30 a month provides a set of 6 books for 12 children over a year!
