Love of Reading for 3-5 year olds

Hello, my friend!  It’s Bibi from BookSpring, sharing my love of reading with you.  Why do I love reading? It helps me feel good.  It teaches me things I don’t know.  I love it so much when people read aloud to me.  There are so many reasons to love to read!  What do you love about reading?

Watch this video, download books to read together, and explore things to do with BookSpring.

Read Together at Home

Here are some books to read together! You can download and save them and keep them forever, to read again and again.

  • I Like to Read
    • Who can you read to?
    • Do you like reading?
  • I Like Books
    • What color is the girl’s book?
    • What are some of your favorite books?
  • Books are Friend
    • What is something that you shouldn’t do to a book?
    • How would you feel if someone did something like they did to the book to you?

Things to Do Together

Talk: Talk about love! What are some things you love to do? Who are some people in your life that you love? Why do you love them?

Write: Make Valentine’s Day name puzzle. Draw a large heart on a piece of paper and then cut it out. Write your name on the heart in large letters and then draw a few squiggly lines to cut to do your puzzle. Full instructions here:

Move: Put on your favorite songs about love and togetherness and DANCE! Some great suggestions are “Happy” by Pharrel or “Count on Me” by Bruno Mars.

Create: Make Valentine’s day meal or food! Think of red and/or pink foods, and then think if you could create a menu of just those foods. If you have red food coloring, you can also turn all sorts of colors pink and red.

Share Together

At the end of the week, reflect on what you read and what you did.

  • Who are some people in my life that I love?
  • What are ways I can show them I love them?
  • What was my favorite book we read together?
