I remember as a kid, that Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss was my favorite book. I also remember the time when my kindergarten teacher read the whole class, Green Eggs and Ham. I came home that same day, and begged my parents to buy the book for me. They finally did, and I made them read to me everyday.

When it was time for me to get ready for bed, my parents read it to me. Green Eggs and Ham is about a character named Sam-I-Am trying to convince the narrator to try green eggs and ham. Sam-I-Am spends most of the book, offering the narrator green eggs and ham at different locations. The unnamed character/narrator finally tries green eggs and ham that Sam-I-Am offered him. He ended up loving the food. I loved Green Eggs and Ham because of all the rhyming, pictures, and the characters personalities.

I think reading is important to kids because it helps us develop better vocabulary, communication, grammar, and writing skills. If a kid told me that reading wasn’t worth their time, I would tell them that it basically makes you smarter.
