Book drives are a great way to engage your family, friends, neighbors, or colleagues in a low effort project with maximum impact for families in Central Texas. Spurthi Kodkani and Hetal Matta are two prime examples of members of our community combining their passion and interests to support BookSpring in a unique way.
A couple of months ago they coordinated an experimental effort to offer a program called “Yoga with Raaga” in Steiner Ranch. Hetal’s expertise in yoga and Spurthi’s passion for music brought the two together. They coordinated this experimental effort to understand the effects of different Raagas on human energy centers. Raagas is the conventional patterns of musical melody and rhythm that form the basis for freely interpreted compositions.
The two humble souls and avid readers chose BookSpring as the charitable organization to benefit from the event. Attendees were encouraged to donate new or gently used books and funds to support our programs. Thank you again to Spurthi and Hetal for supporting our mission!
Book drives are essential to our services and provide our community the opportunity to come together and share books with those who don’t have easy access to them. Click here to learn about donating books and organizing book drives.
