MAXIMUS Foundation supports family development

We are thrilled to be a recipient of the MAXIMUS Foundation grant! With this grant, we will give families in Central Texas an infusion of 20 books to kickstart their home libraries and promote the importance of reading together every day.

“Making a deep and meaningful impact on a community is no easy feat, but BookSpring continues to do it every day,” said John Boyer, MAXIMUS Foundation Chairman.

The MAXIMUS Foundation awards the grant to organizations that promote self-sufficiency and personal growth through health care services, or family and community development for underserved or disadvantaged populations.

John added, “It is an honor to present BookSpring with this MAXIMUS Foundation grant that will support the continuation of their valuable work in improving health, augmenting child and family development, and promoting community development. The Foundation and I look forward to seeing BookSpring’s growth and know that they will continue to improve individuals’ and families’ lives in the future.”

The award will contribute to our 20 books by 2020 vision of filling homes in Central Texas with books to set children on the path to educational success. As little as 20 books can open the door to higher education opportunities for children.

Books are only the beginning. The shared act of reading as a family contributes exponentially to a child’s understanding of a story and their overall motivation to read. Not to mention it helps build a bond between parent/caregiver and child.

Through BookSpringRx, BookSpringEd, and BookSpringGo, we will give families in Central Texas an infusion of 20 books to kickstart their home libraries and continue to promote the importance of reading together every day.

The stories in books have the potential to mold a child’s worldviews and life experiences on a profound level.

Thank you to the MAXIMUS Foundation for supporting our mission to build early literacy in education, healthcare, and the community.

By supporting the initiative for all to “Own the Book,” you support a world of families reading and succeeding together.
