Wow, what a difference! In May 2016, various organizations partnered with us at Forbes Child Inc. in order to bring new life to our lobby. The vision of our lobby became the vision of not only one person, but a collaborative inclusive one with our staff and families in mind. Our lobby transformed into a warm and welcoming “Forbes Forest” and an environment where children and families instantaneously feel at home. In partnership with BookSpring, Keller Williams “RED Day” volunteers painted a beautiful mural on all the walls surrounding the lobby. Children are engaged in reading books from our reading center and reading materials are readily available to parents. Children are using their fine motor skills in order to play with connecting trains and building with wooden blocks on a cozy carpet. Lakeshore Learning contributed a beautiful brown leather couch for the children to sit on and Child INC helped out with furniture too. BookSpring provided a tall bookcase and a waterfall bookcase and included over 200 books to stock our lobby and ensure that the children have something to read while they are waiting. Our stylish Adirondack chairs from H.E.B. READ 3 add another level of comfort for families, staff, and visitors. The transformation that has taken place would not have been possible without all of the support from our community sponsors.
