Are books piling up on your shelves — or in your garage? Clear them out and join us for a Book Swap Party! A book swap is a great way for families to get excited about summer reading.
BookSpring invites all avid readers, on Saturday, June 10 from 9 am to 12 pm, to join us at our office, located at 2006 Greenbrook Parkway.
How does a book swap work?
Give a book, take a book! Attendees who bring book donations will receive tickets to exchange for books they can keep. We encourage you to bring used books and swap them out for titles that neither you nor your child have read. You can leave the extras behind so that BookSpring can give them to families with few or no books at home.
BookSpring currently has a wonderful selection of books for children, teens, and adults! And, don’t worry if your children select their books more quickly than you! Parents can peruse some classics and recent best sellers of all genres while children enjoy a read aloud and activity.
Delicious Kona Ice will also be on site with some refreshing treats for sale, with a percentage of the proceeds to benefit early literacy!
Who benefits from these books?
All proceeds and donations will benefit BookSpringGo summer programs with the Housing Authority City of Austin, Child INC, and the Austin Independent School District.
Reading during summer time is crucial in reducing the summer slide, a phenomenon where children decline in academic and reading skills acquired during the school year. By providing children with books for their home, that they can read and love over and over again, you invest in their future social and academic success.
