Reading with children has been proven to improve comprehension and positively impact self-efficacy and the motivation to learn. Every year, BookSpring on average reaches over 38,000 low-income and bi-lingual families and distributes over 100,000 books through over 90 schools, medical clinics and child care programs in the Austin and Central Texas area. We couldn’t be doing it without the support of book lovers like you.
- $50 provides the books for a full “dose” of reading advice for four children in a healthcare clinic.
- $100 purchases 50 bilingual board books for young infants and toddlers.
- $500 prepares and motivates 25 elementary students (one classroom) to read by giving them free books and involving them in motivational activities that encourage reading.
Some donors choose to fund a specific program, program site, or type of reader, which you’re always welcome to do. Unless otherwise indicated, your online gift will go a fund to be used for areas of the most need. Right now, dozens of sites are turned away annually for lack of community support. Let’s not disappoint the children! Every gift you make helps us serve more readers.
If you’d rather not donate online, you can contact BookSpring directly:
