Build a Bookcase For a Better Childhood

BookCase for a Better Childhood

Nothing lasts like a good book

BookSpring has been providing books and supporting reading aloud to children in Central Texas for over 40 years. Help us keep this noble tradition strong by supporting our Bookcase for a Better Childhood, a multi-year campaign designed to stabilize and expand our core early childhood literacy programs.

Located right outside our offices, visitors are greeted by a bright and colorful 6-foot-tall bookcase featuring book spines that are hand-lettered to your specifications, whether it is a family name, company name, or other special requests. New books are added until the entire bookcase is full.

Limited spaces available! Act now to ensure your family or loved one’s name endures on our wall of books.

Don’t stop believing

Children need to be read to while they are growing up, and they need access to developmentally appropriate books in their home. BookSpring works with schools, clinics, and libraries every day to reach, engage and inspire young readers.

Help realize the vision of every child in Central Texas becoming literate with the opportunity to succeed in school and in life.

Design your book

The Bookcase for a Better Childhood is the  highlight of the BookSpring offices. This busy location is visible to many who are a part of the BookSpring family: from community partners dropping off donations, to school librarians selecting new titles for their children, to volunteers sorting gently used books. The wall is custom made of wood and lettered to your specifications. Your name or message will be imprinted on wooden “book spines.” Each spine fits two lines of text with 16 characters per line including spaces.  Tributes such as “in honor” or “in memory” are welcomed. You may also use numbers and symbols such as “&”. If you have a special request that does not meet these requirements, please contact us to discuss. Multiple “volumes” accepted!

Many thanks for our friends at DPR Construction for their contribution to the construction of the bookcase display.
