The 2016 Storybook Heroes Award Luncheon was a great success! Held at the Radisson Hotel & Suites Downtown Town Lake, the special guest speaker Tim Green, former NFL player and New York Times Bestselling Children’s Author, spoke movingly of the book “Wonder” and how we all must stand up for those who are different from ourselves. Emcee by Taylor Ellison, of KEYE TV, honorees included Mindy Gomillion, former Executive Director and Board Member and passionate literacy advocate, and Keller Williams Realty International, who supported BookSpring with over 200 volunteers during it’s company-wide Red Day.
BookSpring’s fourth annual Storybook Heroes Luncheon award ceremony and fundraiser continued to raise the bar for our philanthropic support. With a sporting theme, this year’s luncheon honored local and national champions of childhood literacy. Over $50,000 in proceeds from the event went to support the vital work of BookSpring.
