Inspiring the joy of reading

Ever since I was little, I loved the feeling of having a book in my hand. From Barbara Park to Markus Zusak, the endless words never ceased to inspire me. Even now, I posses a deep love and respect for where the simple collection of words on a page can take my imagination. From the intriguing first sentence, to the cliffhangers at the conclusion of a chapter, books never cease to amaze me with their capability. I particularly enjoy how enchanted I can become, living vicariously through the characters, and experiencing their adventures right alongside them.

I started volunteering at BookSpring because I was looking for a good volunteer opportunity and when a friend introduced me to the organization, I jumped at the chance. I loved the idea of being able to do what I love and help inspire the joys of reading in other kids as well.

I review mainly children’s books, which I love! I’m fascinated by the simplicity and innocence that comes from stories told with minimal words, colorful pictures, and an abundance of happiness. I believe that it’s these books that get kids to enjoy reading. It is with books like these that my love of reading first formed. Because reading has made such an impact in my life, I want it to do the same in other kids lives as well.

This is why I love volunteering at BookSpring!!
